Learn to manage your lung disease and live better
Join a local American Lung Association Better Breathers Club® today
Better Breathers Clubs® are welcoming support groups offered at no charge to people with COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) or other chronic lung diseases. The club brings people together to learn how to manage their condition and improve their quality of life.
How does it work?
Better Breathers Clubs® meet regularly for 1-2 hours to provide support, education and socialization for people with COPD or other chronic lung diseases, as well as family members and caregivers. Meetings help you:
- Better manage your condition
- Share experiences, challenges and skills with others
- Learn about resources and activities in your community
- Become more active

Why should YOU join a Better Breathers Club®?
Chronic lung diseases are not curable but they can be managed. Better Breathers Clubs® help you understand that you aren’t defined by your condition … and that you can live well with chronic lung disease.
The American Lung Association works with hospitals, clinics, churches, and community centers in your community to offer Better Breathers Clubs®. That means you’ll enjoy the resources of a respected national leader in lung health as well as local organizations you know and trust.
What will I learn?
At Better Breathers Club® meetings you’ll receive helpful materials that encourage practical discussions about:
- Understanding chronic lung disease
- Talking to your healthcare provider
- Tracking symptoms, understanding medicines and treatment
- Managing everyday activities (bathing, dressing, shopping)
- Exercise programs
- Emotional and social well-being
- And more!
